About the Artist

Aneesah is a self-taught artist working primarily in charcoal, graphite and pastels.

She is originally from the Cape Flats and has felt deeply connected to the natural world from a young age.

Her work explores conservation themes and the delicate relationship between humans and nature. Through her drawings, she invites viewers to slow down and really look at the beauty and intricacies of the natural world, while also drawing attention to what is at risk due to climate change and habitat loss.

In addition to her studio work, she shares her artistic process and passion as the principal instructor at Old Sól Art Studio, encouraging others to explore art as a form of self-expression.
